She said one of the nice things about painting during Benalla Street Art Festival is how interested people are in the art and the process.
“I’ve felt a bit under pressure getting the outlines done, and I’ll feel a lot better when they are (finished),” Leunig said.
“It’s been nice. People have been enthusiastic, friendly, and interested.”
Leunig said she liked the variety of the artist line-up.
“I already know some of them,” she said.
“Some are good friends. Tim Bowtell, I actually know from about 15 years ago.
“Some I don’t know so well. I haven’t even had a chance to wander around and see everyone’s work yet.
“I’ve been a bit tied to this wall.
“So I’m really looking forward to getting a chance to do that and meet some more of the artists.
“Eddie (Zammit, the festival curator) has been great.
“He’s taken on a lot and seems to be doing really well.
“I haven’t seen too much of him. I think he’s busy running around a lot.”
Leunig said she thinks she’ll be painting for the whole week and can’t wait for the community to see the finished piece.“
