Greater Shepparton City Council will undertake proactive ribbon weed cutting at Shepparton’s Victoria Park Lake from Monday, February 14, to Monday, February 28.
The lake will be closed for all public use between 6am to 6pm during this period.
Surrounding open space areas — including walking paths — and playgrounds remain open and will not be affected by the works.
The council has worked with user groups to advise of the works and minimise interruptions.
The process involves using an aquatic harvester boat, which cuts the plant below the surface and stores the cut material on board for later disposal.
Any minor offcuts that wash up on the banks during the process will be removed by council staff.
