In wintry conditions at Merrigum Recreation Reserve, the Bulldogs powered past an inaccurate Kangaroos outfit, recording a 14.9 (93) to 2.15 (15) win.
The round 16 win kept the Bulldogs' season alive with two rounds remaining as the last two finals spots hang on a knife edge.
Merrigum's Jack Sinclair, 20, had a milestone match to remember.
In his 50th senior game, Sinclair kicked a goal and claimed the Bulldogs' best afield honours.
Jake Ross and Geoff Connally provided superb support, while Sam Barbagallo (two goals), Jake Parkinson (two)and Sean Reidy (two) starred in attack.
Saturday's loss all but ends Girgarre's faint finals hopes, with the Kangaroos set to cast their gaze to next season.
For Girgarre, Gerard Hanratty, Hayden Phillips and Rhys Febey performed well, alongside recently named new coach Billy Barnes.
Kaleb Ford and Antonio Barca were the two Kangaroo goal-kickers.
In the round's other game, Violet Town claimed its third win of the season with a 125-point rout of Ardmona.
The Towners proved too strong for the Bush Cats at the Cattery, despite the appearance of AFL legend Robert "Dipper" DiPierdomenico.Â
Ryan Jennings was the standout for Violet Town, booting six goals to help carry his side to a 21.22 (148) to 3.5 (23) win.
Jett Bewick was named best afield for the Towners, popping up and kicking two majors.
Mark Baker and Nathan Abley stood tall and Nick Abley (four goals) and Brendan Anderson (three) gave great support in attack alongside Jennings.
Ardmona's Isaac Handy can hold his head up high after a great performance for the Bush Cats.
Handy was well supported by Tyler Lackmann, David Gilby and Memphis Scarpetti (one goal).
