Grandell crafted a magical 114-run knock as the Blues romped to a 121-run win at Numurkah Showgrounds.
Coming off a loss to Waaia in round two and without a win to its name Numurkah had plenty to prove.
And the reigning premier responded in style.
After deciding to bat first, the home side piled on a mammoth total of 5-251 from 45 overs — thanks to the special performance from its skipper.
Grandell's sublime ton was the very essence of a captain's knock.
The opening bat spent almost three hours at the crease and crunched eight boundaries and a six from his 124 deliveries faced.
Once fellow opener Tim Braybon departed for 15, Grandell linked up with Numurkah coach Michael Eckard for an impressive partnership.
The duo combined for a stunning 145-run stand and enjoyed a day out against the away side's bowling brigade.
Eckard produced a classy 65 runs and his 82-ball knock consisted of three maximums.
Ramadan Yze (3-34) bowled gallantly and tried his hardest for the Tigers, but the damage was already on the scoreboard.
In the run chase, Central Park-St Brendan's were never able to get the ball rolling as Numurkah collected a steady flow of wickets.
Former Blues skipper Liam Gledhill (2-4) and Braybon (2-16) led the bowling onslaught, as the Tigers stumbled to 8-71.
And opening bowler Matt Cline (1-22) picked up a wicket to celebrate his 100th appearance for Numurkah in style.
A late flurry of runs from Aidan Lloyd (30) ended the day with a glimmer of positive news for the Tigers.
The win has lifted Numurkah into eighth spot, while Central Park-St Brendan's sit two spots above in sixth.
Looking ahead to this weekend, the Blues will square off against Nagambie — in what will be the clubs’ first encounter since last year's grand final was abandoned.
And the Tigers will welcome a winless Katandra outfit to Deakin Reserve.
