Greater Shepparton City Council says there has been a positive development in the blue-green algae status of Lake Bartlett in Tatura.
Council has removed a warning issued following a significant decline in blue-green algae levels in the lake.
The warning for Lake Bartlett was issued on January 15.
Regular water quality monitoring and observations will continue to be made by council officers throughout the year and any changes to the advice will be announced via the website www.gmwater.com.au/bluegreenalgae-alert or the blue-green algae hotline (03) 5826 3785.
Water users and customers are advised to remain vigilant for signs of blue-green algae in all lakes, waterways and the irrigation system, as there may be isolated patches present.
Any suspected blue-green algae blooms can be reported to the hotline.
Council has advised that water supplied by it is unsuitable for human consumption without first being properly treated.
Human consumption includes showering, bathing, washing, cooking, ice-making and drinking.
