Neither has yet achieved what it wants to this season and can begin a magical finals run when the sides meet up in Spring Gully.
While the Blues could not defend last year's Cup win with a tilt up the table, they finished fifth on the table on the back of a seven-game unbeaten run to close the season, a stretch that included a 4-1 thumping of tomorrow's opponent.
But while the Ibises lost their final three games of the campaign, coach Dom Cricelli said his side was confident it could get one back on United.
“Everyone's pumped, we're a little bit ready for redemption given our performance last game,” he said.
“The 4-1 score means we've got something to prove to everyone, but mostly to ourselves. We're pretty excited to get that chance.
“Obviously United is a good side and they've proved that the last couple of years winning grand finals.
“You always know they're going to be strong at this time of year, I don't think we were ready for them and we've ironed out a few issues and got a few players back.”
Tatura welcomes back Adrian Corbo and Jarrod Backway to its side to strengthen up its defence, while Jordan Leocata has been tearing up the track in training and seems poised for a monster final.
Meanwhile, United is peaking at the right time of year, an argument punched home by a 1-0 win against Strathdale last week, where Ardit Gavri's goal ended the Blues' unbeaten campaign.
“It was good, we prepared well, we knew they play good fast soccer and that we had to match that,” United coach Roven Shaholli said.
“I was really proud of the boys for taking Strathdale down for the first time this year. For sure (we took confidence), it was probably one of the main keys for us because there wasn't very much else to play for.”
Shaholli said his side was once again well positioned to make a run toward a trophy, taking plenty of confidence from the recent win against the Ibises.
“Tatura played well on that day, we just finished our chances,” he said.
“I know they'll come with a slightly different game plan, but we'll be prepared for that and see what we've got, but I'm confident in the boys.
“We showed Strathdale what we're capable of, we showed Tat a couple of weeks ago what we're capable of and if we can do that again there should be no issues.”
Shepparton South will also be looking to keep its season alive when it takes on Moama-Echuca in a Super Cup quarter-final.
The Southerners have rattled off four straight wins, scoring 27 goals in the process while conceding just two, most recently smacking Golden City 11-0.
That streak includes a remarkable 6-0 drubbing of the Border Raiders in one of the most unfathomable results of the season.
The Border Raiders have responded since then with three straight wins, warming up for the finals with a 4-1 win against Epsom.
South will make a point of shutting down Mitch Langenbacher, who has netted 16 goals in 16 games this season.
This weekend also brings the start of the Women's division Super Cup, where Shepparton United enters as the strongest possible favourite.
The Blues take on Golden City in one quarter-final, a side they have beaten 9-0 this season way back in round six.
While they have won all of their games, it has been a different story for City with just six wins and a draw and the Blues would expect to progress comfortably to the semis.
Elsewhere, Shepparton South will face Strathdale in a much tighter affair that has the potential to go either way.
The Southerners won well to close their regular season, winning 3-0 against Moama-Echuca to make it four straight wins without conceding a goal.
The Blues' form has been less convincing with back-to-back losses, although they did smash the Border Raiders 6-1 the week before.
The sides drew 2-2 when they met in round 10 with Alannah Scopelliti and Brittany Scrivens scoring the goals for South, with both expected to be vital tomorrow.
