This week alone has seen 4.8 mm recorded in the 24 hours until 9 am on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Up to Wednesday morning, Shepparton had seen 33.8 mm of rain so far this month.
The historical mean rainfall for the month in the past 25 years is 41.4 mm; however, Bureau of Meteorology figures from the Lemnos weather station between 1962 and 1996 showed a mean monthly rainfall of 57.7 mm
The highest July rainfall on record, however, is the 137.2 mm that fell in 1995.
The lowest was the mere 8 mm recorded in July, 1997.
The heaviest July daily rainfall was the 42 mm that fell on July 24, 2003.
Looking ahead, rain is expected until at least Tuesday next week.
Thursday’s forecast is for up to 2 mm of rain, Friday is expected to see 2 to 8 mm, Saturday 6 to 10 mm, Sunday 3 to 6 mm, Monday up to 2 mm and Tuesday up to 1 mm.
