Michael Hudson directed, co-wrote and co-produced four new episodes for the Channel 10 series Stuff Everyone Should Know About Australia, now available on 10 Play.
Mr Hudson worked with actor and comedian Elaine Crombie who hosted the four episodes The Heroes of Gundagai, Language Warriors, Earth Ovens and More than Myth.
He said the 7-8 minute-long episodes used a light-hearted approach to deliver a serious message aimed at debunking myths around Indigenous history and culture.
“For instance, The Heroes of Gundagai is about a group of Aboriginal men who saved the town from flood. Everyone knows about the Dog on the Tuckerbox, but we wanted to shine a light on a different story,” Mr Hudson said.

He said Earth Ovens asked whether Indigenous people were the first slow-cookers long before the Egyptians, after the discovery of heating stones near Bendigo.
Language Warriors is about the revival of First Nations languages across Australia and reveals a host of Australian words with Indigenous origins.
More than Myth ties recent archeological discoveries of megafauna with traditional stories, and asks, what if the creatures were real?
Mr Hudson travelled from Sydney to outback NSW and Victoria with a film crew to make the series earlier this year.
“I had a little bit of knowledge about each location, but I wanted to travel on Country and yarn with the real people who knew the stories,” he said.
A Yorta Yorta and Bangerang man, Mr Hudson's short film Ties That Bind scooped the best short screenplay award at the 2019 Sydney Film Festival.
A short film series pitch about whistling ants that glow in the dark, evil spirits that steal parents and giant ant mounds containing sleeping people was one of 10 projects selected for further development by Screen Australia and SBS also in 2019.
His 2016 film Leonids featured Shepparton actors and premiered at the Ballarat Observatory before screening at La Trobe University in Shepparton.
