Quietly and humbly for the past three decades Dawn Harrison has volunteered her time helping people at the Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre.

However, the time has come for the 83-year-old to take a bow and hand the reins on to another selfless soul.
Dawn began working for the centre after her daughter moved away for university, happy to have something to do with the extra time on her hands.
“It was a bit lonely, so I decided to join the hub,” she said.
The loneliness soon disappeared and Dawn said the club had been the source of many of her long-time friendships.
Dawn's skills have been used in a range of different roles and activities across the club in the past 30 years.
“There has been so many different areas of the centre I have been a part of but I think one of my favourite things was the soup and song group,” she said.
In the past few years Dawn has been the manager of the Monday meal service, which provides a three-course meal for seniors from across the region.
Manager Jan Phillips congratulated Dawn for her outstanding contribution and said the centre would miss Dawn's hard work.
“One of the things I appreciate Dawn for is her soft and gentle presence,” Ms Philips said.
“You can always count on her to lend a hand wherever needed and she is always on time."
Although Dawn has decided to wind down her work at the centre, she promised the community she would continue to be a familiar face around the building.
Dawn's service was marked with two celebrations and a well-deserved gift.
The centre is seeking volunteers looking to lend a hand who have an interest in the kitchen.
