Park committee member Tracey Mouser said unsupervised children had been caught using one of the shade sails as a trampoline on Thursday.
“The shade sail will have to be assessed and most likely fixed again.”
Ms Mouser said it was disappointing to see the park disrespected.
“The shade sails are really important particularly coming into summer months,” she said.
“This facility is very well used and a lot of people come down after work to socialise or on a regular basis."
Council's citizens services acting manager Susan Sallabanks said any vandalism to community assets was condemned by council.
“The damaged caused to the shade sails will have a significant impact on the community as we approach the summer months,” she said.
“While the exact cost of the damage is unknown at this stage, the cost of repairing the damage is ultimately borne by ratepayers.
“Council is always looking at ways to limit vandalism in the region.
“Council is working with the police to resolve the matter. Council encourages the community to assist council and the police and report any suspicious activity at the facility to the police immediately.”
The park is monitored by the council's animal management team and the Off Leash Dog Park Committee.
To ensure the success of the park, residents need to ensure rules are obeyed. Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
