The Deni Rams player has been selected in the Allies squad — a combination of the best U18 footballers from NSW/ACT, Queensland, Northern Territory and Tasmania — to compete at the U18 AFL Championships.
The Allies will face-off against Vic Metro, Vic Country, Western Australia and South Australia.
Shaw will follow in the footsteps of fellow Deni footballer and current AFL player Todd Marshall, who also competed as part of the Allies side in 2016.
It’s been a busy year for the onballer, becoming the first Deni-based footballer to gain selection for the Bendigo Pioneers NAB League Under 18s squad, after the Pioneers expanded their recruiting zone to Deniliquin last year.
Shaw has competed in every game for the Pioneers this season, with his running ability off of half back being a feature of his game.
The Allies’ NAB U18 Championships campaign will kick-off against Vic Country with a game at Launceston, Tasmania on Sunday, June 9.
