Nathalia’s creative scene has received a boost thanks to a $10980 grant for The G.R.A.I.N Store.

The Small Regional Presenters program funding was announced yesterday, with Nathalia’s The G.R.A.I.N Store one of 13 community groups across Victoria to receive assistance to bring exciting performances to town.

Gallery manager Kristen Retallick said the funding would be used to present three new interactive shows as part of the yearly program.

The funding will support The G.R.A.I.N Store in hosting interactive children’s theatre performance Loose Ends by Jens Altheimer, The Kutcha Edwards Hour and Australian blues guitarist Geoff Achison.

Ms Rettalick said the performers, supported by the grant and other local funding sources, were an exciting addition for the town.

‘‘It means people living rurally can access things that usually would be special to metropolitan areas other than rural towns,’’ she said.

‘‘This is more about a really true appreciation of art and artists and variations of what they do.’’

Ms Rettalick said The G.R.A.I.N Store would work with Regional Arts Victoria to bring two of the presenters to town as part of the Connecting Places Program.
