Community groups and not-for-profit organisations were able to apply for up to $3000 for projects or events in the biannual grant round.
Successful applicants included Moama Lions Club to upgrade its chip fryer, Community Living & Respite Services for Johnno’s Run and Echuca Moama Little Athletics Centre for equipment.
Murray River Council Mayor Chris Bilkey said there was a great response to the grant program.
“There were many worthy projects submitted for consideration, highlighting the amazing things that continue to go on in our towns, despite another challenging year,” Cr Bilkey said.
“The funded projects are spread throughout the council area, represent the diverse needs of our residents and will greatly promote the wellbeing of Murray River Council communities.”
More than $40,000 in total was requested; however, $30,000 was allocated by council towards the program.
