Where are you from? Originally Orange, but I grew up in Kyabram and Mooroopna.
Where do you live now? In Bendigo, but I come home to stay with my family in Mooroopna pretty regularly.
What do you do? I’m a musician, and I work at a restaurant.
I’m also studying business economics online and hoping to get a diploma in travel and tourism.
What sort of musician are you? I’m the lead singer in a cover band with my friends.
It’s just a bit of fun, really, and it helps me get some cash on the side.
What do you want to be? I’m fascinated by the music industry, and I’d love to be a tour manager.
So I’d travel with artists and help them with their shows and accommodation and make sure they don’t do anything stupid.
What do you like most about Mooroopna? I think just that we’re right next to Shepp without being in Shepp; we’re our own little town, but we get all the benefits of a really big town because Shepp is right there.
What’s it like compared to Bendigo? It’s just home.
I like Bendigo, and I have amazing friends here, but back home I know everybody and it’s nice to have a bit more space.
As for Shepp, it’s not that different. Bendigo is a bit bigger, but Shepp is growing.
I think Shepp is going to look a lot like Bendigo in a few years.
What are your hopes for Greater Shepparton moving forward? It’s obviously going to keep growing, but I just hope it doesn’t lose any of its charm and identity.
I’ve always felt like it has the personality of a small town with the benefits of a big town.
I think there’s a really cool next generation of young people coming through that are going to grow up through all the changes and really shape the future of Shepparton.
