“It’s a big claim but a genuine one – There is no other venue within a 100km radius that has anything quite like what we have in store for you”, general manager Grant Tarrant said.
“You won’t recognise the club. We purchased the building to the south of the current site which has been rebuilt to house the Shepparton RSL Veterans Centre, our boardroom and administration departments.
“By doing this it has freed up valuable space within the current building and it has also given us room for an outdoor expansion.
“In warmer months this new area will be perfect for the likes of Sunday sessions with live music with access to an outdoor bar. There’ll even be an area for private gatherings so if you have something special to celebrate, it’ll be perfect.”
As with any renovation, and especially one of this scale, there have been a few hurdles along the way but Mr Tarrant has vast experience with venue renovations, and together with his staff, are working diligently to ensure it's 100% business as usual throughout the journey.
“ Diggers Bistro is still open for lunch and dinner daily, we have the main bar and members lounge, all our regular weekly raffles and promotions are happening,” he said.
“It really is no different! You just take a bit of a detour when entering the club through the main doors and that’s it!”
The current stage, which is now in full swing, is scheduled to be unveiled in a few months and then there may well be a break over the Christmas period before the next, even bigger stage, gets underway early next year.
