The festival features a week of free and low-cost events for business owners, community-group organisers, individuals and general community members who are interested.
The highlight event is the Future Work Regional Summit on Friday, August 23, where 22 speakers from across Australia will address a range of topics relevant to the future of our region’s transformation in response to digital innovation.
Other workshops will aim to improve technological capability in the community, including Tech Help for Seniors, Digital Marketing Essentials for Business, Internet Basics, Getting Started on Social Media, and the Robo-Kids Robotic Workshop for children aged eight to 13.
Benalla Mayor Scott Upston said the community's ability to grow with the digital sector was important to Benalla’s economy and growth.
"The digital sector is growing exponentially across Australia and especially in Victoria," Cr Upston said.
"We need to harness the opportunities available for Benalla in the transformation of work in the digital age.
"This will give us yet another business edge as a connected Rural City."
The festival is part of the statewide Digital Innovation Festival, an initiative of the state government.
It is hosted by Benalla Rural City council in partnership with the Digital Innovation Festival and Startup Shakeup.
