Trbojevic will line up at centre again on Saturday night against Melbourne, with Lehi Hopoate at No.1 and Manly treating the swap as a week-by-week situation.
Manly have a crucial month ahead and face the NRL's top three teams on the ladder, making the AAMI Park clash a litmus test for the Trbojevic switch.
How the Sea Eagles' attack functions against the likes of the Storm, Canterbury and Canberra could prove season defining.
But on current form, albeit against weaker opposition, it has every chance of being a success.
In two games with Trbojevic at right centre against Wests Tigers and South Sydney, five of the Sea Eagles' 11 tries have come after he went infield or roamed to the left.
A sixth has also come on the right wing, when Trbojevic's quick hands sent Jason Saab over.
The 2021 Dally M Medallist has also bust 11 tackles in those games according to Fox Sports Stats, compared to six in the five matches before that.
"He has such good game awareness," five-eighth Luke Brooks said.
"That was probably the first thing I noticed coming (to Manly).
"You give him a slight opportunity and nine times out of 10 he nails it. Not a lot of fullbacks can do that."
Crucially, Trbojevic's move to right centre has also reinvigorated Brooks's left edge.
In the Sea Eagles' first 14 games of this season they had created just 16 tries down that side, making it the least potent of any left edge in the NRL.
But with Trbojevic regularly moving across field to create the extra number, that left side has now laid on six in the past two games.
Vital again, when considering the Storm have conceded more than half their tries to opposition left edges this season.
"When you see him coming across you hope he has seen something," Manly's left second-rower Ben Trbojevic said.
"You just have to react, it's all about reacting, You hear his voice, react and hopefully it's a positive play.
"Sometimes it feels like we have two fullbacks.
"It's just a different look. Tom has done it at the Origin level so it comes natural to him. He reads the game so well, so whenever he does it you just back him."
While Trbojevic's move has given Hopoate more ball at fullback, Brooks said the other change had come in Manly's halves.
Since the heat was applied during their round-16 bye, he and Daly Cherry-Evans playing both sides of the ruck more against the Tigers and Souths.
"It's something we've really wanted to bring into our game," Brooks said.
"Getting our hands on the ball a bit more and linking up together. We feel like when we're linking up we're connected and playing our best football."
