YOUR chance to take part in a bowls masterclass has arrived this Sunday as the Nesbitt family hosts a barefoot bowls Johnno’s Run fundraiser.

The barefoot bowls and barbecue event at the Moama Bowling club will be raising money for Community Living and Respite Service’s Opening Doors Project which has started construction in Maiden St, Moama.

And Johanna Nesbitt has nominated her lawn bowler husband Peter for the masterclasses.

‘‘We’ve been a part of Johnno’s Run for three years but this is the first year we’re running the barefoot bowls,’’ Johanna said.

‘‘Peter is a past club champion at Rich River and we always have a great time going barefoot bowling with our friends — so we thought why not raise money while doing it?

‘‘It’s not competitive at all, just a bit of fun and I’m sure Peter would be happy to offer advice to anyone who is looking to up their game a bit.’’

With less than six weeks until Run Melbourne, the Nesbitt’s are hoping to have a strong turnout to have fun for a good cause.

The barefoot bowls event is on this Sunday at 3pm, followed by a barbecue at 5pm, at The Greens at Moama Bowling Club.

Tickets to the event are $25 per person or $50 for a family and are available until 5pm Thursday by calling Johanna on 0418599210 or visiting the CLRS office at 26A Percy St, Echuca.
