Girgarre showed off the benefits of a long pre-season, strong game plan and well-drilled structures in its 92-point hiding of the Towners.
In what was a relatively even first quarter Girgarre took the upper hand in the second term to lead by 10 goals at half-time.
On-baller Nick Abley stood up for the Towners, amassing 43 possessions, while Tim Ross also led from the front.
Meanwhile, veteran James Bodycoat showed why he could play on for a few years yet, outstanding on the wing.
Matt McCarty, Matt Davies and Jayden Guppy were among others who worked tirelessly all day.
Violet Town’s next test will be in how it responds against Murchison after the Easter break.

Reserves
Violet Town’s seconds suffered a 158-point thrashing from Girgarre on Saturday.
Under the tutelage of co-coaches Eddie Kozole and Lachlan Ellis, it proved a disappointing loss for the team after its 80-point win against Ardmona last round.
Nick Papakalodoukas once again was a shining light for the side, while Rhys Taylor and Lachlan Ellis were among few others who could hold their heads up.

It took Violet Town the first half of the first quarter to hit its straps, before finishing the quarter off well to trail by one at the first break.
Returning to put the pressure on Girgarre, Violet Town came out firing in the second term and took a two-goal lead ahead of half-time.
But in what was a scrappier and flatter third term, Violet Town let Girgarre back into the match and trailed by three at the last break.
With both sides tired and forcing silly mistakes in the final minutes of the game, Violet Town couldn’t close out the match.

However, Girgarre was not going down without a fight and kept Violet Town’s defensive end and shooters on their toes.
Jaz Edwards was excellent in wing attack, controlling the ball down the court and feeding beautifully into the ring.

Violet Town’s C-graders produced a comfortable win against Girgarre, extending its lead at each break to record an 11-goal win.
Brianna Cotchin work tirelessly down back, creating a number of turnovers.
A tighter defence from Girgarre this week made Violet Town’s shooters work hard, with Simone Leslie seemingly unable to miss.

Under-15
Following last week’s win, the under-15s struggled to match a strong Girgarre outfit as it was overrun by 40 goals.
Despite the scoreline the young side failed to give up, running out the match until the end.
As a developing new side, more game time together should see Violet Town further gel as a team.
