‘Celebrate with the family, be good to the family, always’

Originally from the Italian province of Foggia, Mr Villani was a farmer at Tatura before moving into Mercy Place.

He has five children, 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mr Villani said his principles for being a good father included keeping a focus on the family and working hard.

“Celebrate with the family, be good to the family, always,” he said.

“You have to give the kids a little bit of freedom to live, but tell them to do things properly, to do the right thing.

“We worked hard to save for the kids and they are doing the same.

“We’re lucky we’re here.”
