Bunnaloo Public School’s success at district athletics

Winners: Bunnaloo Public School students at the 2022 Deniliquin District Athletics Carnival were winners of Aggregate, Handicap, Relay and Ball Games trophies.

Bunnaloo Public School students had an extremely successful day at the recent Deniliquin District Athletics Carnival, where they competed against their peers from the Blighty, Conargo and Mayrung public schools at the Deni Rams Hardinge St Oval in Deniliquin.

As always, the day kicked off with the traditional marching event where the Bunnaloo students got the day off to a great start with an early victory.

The day only got better from there for the young athletes from Bunnaloo with their endeavour to actively involve themselves in as many events as possible — leading to victory in the Aggregate, Handicap, Ball Games and Relay events on the day, a clean sweep of the silverware.

In total, 16 Bunnaloo Public School students have qualified via the carnival to represent the Small Schools at the Deniliquin District Carnival that was held at the same venue on Friday.

The school had a number of students who also achieved individual honours on the day.

Audrey Laffan (junior), Lara O'Callaghan (11 years) and Alice Peat (senior) were all age champions on the day, and Alice was also the Overall Carnival Champion.
