It is about to get noisy at the Puckapunyal Military Area, with Australian Defence Force personnel conducting live-fire training in August.
The public should expect to hear a significant increase in noise, including loud bangs and explosions between 12.45pm and 3.30pm from Monday, August 15 to Wednesday August 17.
There will also be rehearsals for the operation between 8am and 5pm from Monday, August 8 to Sunday, August 14.
The ADF said residents of the areas surrounding Puckapunyal should not be alarmed if they heard loud explosions and should not be concerned that they were under any form of actual threat.
They are also strongly encouraged, though, to take measures to secure anxious animals.
The ADF said it would take measures to minimise noise disturbances where possible and thanked the public in advance for its patience and co-operation while the training was being conducted.
It said the activity was vital to maintaining Australia’s world-class military capability.
The training is being conducted in a COVID-safe manner, with appropriate health management processes in place.
