The termination of a long-time worker and a leaked company email titled “WW3” have resulted in some Lactalis Echuca staff downing tools until their co-worker is reinstated.

On Monday, July 11, an Echuca worker’s service was terminated by Lactalis amid allegations of bullying and harassment.
Lactalis Echuca worker and fellow AMWU shop steward Brett Kyne said the woman was terminated for “just doing her duty as a shop steward”.
Electrical Trades Union organiser Aaron Douglas said Lactalis had to honour their enterprise agreement.
“As I understand it, the shop steward was exercising her rights under the enterprise agreement,” Mr Douglas said.
The company has declined to comment on the current dispute.
