The ladder leaders travelled to face a winless Katamatite, with Jerilderie managing a four-wicket win despite poor performance to their standard.
Upon winning the toss Katamatite decided to bat, and while defending valiantly against the Jerilderie hostile bowlers, they were 4/17 at drinks.
The home side’s batting eventually came to an end in the 32nd over, being all out for 65.
The only Katamatite batsmen to reach double figures were Tim Bye (19) and Conor Lawless (11).
The Jerilderie bowlers shared the wickets around, Dylan Henery, 2/6 off five overs and Ben Browning 2/10 off three, being the successful multiple-wicket takers.
Jordon Anthony, Greg Lawton, Travis Lawton, Grant Smith, Tom Marshall, and Justin Lawton all picked up a wicket each.
Jerilderie went in to bat thinking they were to merely go through the motions to score a comfortable win, but were shocked out of their complacency when they found themselves in dire trouble at 5/22 in the eighth over.
It was left to Ben Browning (26 not out) and Grant Smith (20 not out) to prove there were no gremlins in the pitch, and see Jerilderie safely pass Katamatite’s total, in the 23rd over.
Katamatite’s most successful bowler was James McCallum who picked up 3/10 runs off his five overs, while Conor Lawless, Christopher Hibberson, and Steven Carr claimed a wicket each.
Jerilderie has another away match this week, when they take on second placed Cobram at the Cobram Showgrounds on Saturday.
