The event, from 11am to 3pm, is being organised coordinated by the Deniliquin Pastoral & Agricultural Society.
Treasurer Dawn Morris said the show committee received $1500 from the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network for the event.
She said the grant, and extra funds from the P&A Society’s reserves, means all of the activities including the barbecue lunch will be free for families.
Specifically organised as a drought relief event, Mrs Morris said the day will also be a great chance for local farming families and others affected by the drought to gain some handy advice.
‘‘The overall idea is to bring drought affected families together for a day of fun,’’ Mrs Morris said.
‘‘The P&A Society has roots in the farming community. There are quite a number of farmers and ex-farmers on our committee and who volunteer for the show, and we are all seeing the impact of the drought.
‘‘This event is just to let those farmers and the community know there are others in the same position, and that help is out there.
‘‘Speak Up Campaign chair Shelley Scoullar will be a guest speaker, and we’ll also have some stalls from local community groups and services.
‘‘People can speak with Matthew Van Zeyl from Centrelink, Intereach, Wellways, Deniliquin Rotary, the Deniliquin Menshed and more.
‘‘Local car enthusiasts will also have a display and there will be a free jumping castle, balloons, live music and icecream.’’
