The outfit returns to its home deck at Frank Howley Oval for the round 14 clash against Shepparton United on Saturday.
Fresh off a gallant and spirited 12-run loss to top four outfit Numurkah, Coombs said his charges would take plenty of confidence out of the match.
“It’d be nice to finish off on a high,” the Tatura mentor said.
“Last weekend I thought we did a great job. (It) was one of our better performances this season.
“We were up against it with Blake (Armstrong) and Jimmy (Boyer) both out, but Tommy (Vibert) bowled really well considering he hasn’t bowled much this season.
“And then batting-wise, we were on target to win ... it was a bit disappointing not to come away with the win.”
With Armstrong back in the line-up for this weekend Tatura is close to full-strength, however, Boyer will come back through B-grade.
The inclusion of the emerging quick will help bolster Tatura’s stocks.
Meanwhile, Shepparton United enters this weekend following its narrow defeat to Karramomus.
The young outfit suffered a 17-run loss and looked destined to crack its maiden win of the summer.
Despite United’s position on the ladder, Coombs understands the contest will be evenly placed and no easy walk in the park for his team.
“They have been close to winning some games over the past few weeks,” he said.
“Both sides are very evenly matched; we both have young talented players and I think it will come down to whoever performs better on the day.”
