Victorians to benefit from vehicle rebate and cheaper transport

To be eligible, Victorians need to have paid for registration on a light vehicle for personal use between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026.

The full rebate is available regardless of whether the rego was paid in full or in instalments.

Applications for the discount are open until July 31.

In another Victorian Government measure, public transport will be half price until the end of the year, with a full daily fare for statewide travel dropping from $11.40 to $5.70.

Regular commuters could save more than $850 by the end of the year.

Public transport remains permanently free for under 18s and other special pass holders.
