Euroa product Jamie Elliott has confirmed his future at Collingwood, penning a two-year contract extension that keeps him in the black and white stripes until the end of the 2027 AFL season.
Rumours circled around the 33-year-old leaving Olympic Park Oval for a potential three-year offer from Gold Coast Suns, but on Wednesday, Elliott squashed it by inking a fresh deal with the Pies.
It comes off the back of a career-best 60-goal season return for Elliott, who was elated to remain a Magpie for the next two years.
“Collingwood has been my home for the past 14 years and I can’t wait to continue running out in front of the Magpie Army,” Elliott said.
“Celebrating my 200th game earlier this year, surrounded by my family and teammates, will be something I’ll never forget. I’m incredibly proud to be a Collingwood person.
“I look forward to seeing what we can achieve as a team over the coming years and creating many more memories.”
Elliott ticked over a significant marker in 2025, notching his 200th AFL game for Collingwood in round six, with his record now reading 347 goals from 219 games for the Pies.
Not bad for a kid from the country.
The silky forward was recruited from the Murray Bushrangers after playing the bulk of his juniors at Euroa, pre-listed by Greater Western Sydney before being traded to Collingwood at the end of 2011.
Elliott has played the entirety of his AFL career for the Pies, and after claiming the club’s leading goalkicker award for the third time in his career, he was congratulated on the new deal by Collingwood’s list and talent strategy general manager Justin Leppitsch.
“Jamie is an integral part of the team and we are pleased to have him commit for another two years,” Leppitsch said.
“Throughout his 14 seasons at the Club, Jamie has been a key pillar of our side, and his experience and football smarts are influential in our forward line.
“Nothing highlights Jamie’s drive to grow and develop more than his elevation into the leadership group ahead of this season. Even with over 200 games to his name, he is never complacent and is always trying to improve himself and those around him.
“We look forward to seeing Jamie in the black and white for the next two years and can’t wait for many more high-flying marks and exciting goals.”
