The four-minute test, supported through the Rochester Business Network and Rochester Lions Club, looks at factors such as blood pressure, BMI and heart age.
Compared to 2024, where almost 700 people took up the resource, numbers so far are below 200.
The machine will be at the museum for another two months, giving locals and visitors plenty of time to do the test.
Sports clubs and groups can visit together, and the museum’s volunteers are happy to open outside regular hours for those looking to get checked.
“If we can get groups like the footy and netball clubs in,” volunteer David Lake said.
“They did that last year.
“A big group, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, if that’s the most convenient to them, we can arrange for someone to be here.”
Using the test also gives visitors to the sports museum an opportunity to check out its extensive collection.
“While you’re here, have a look at the collection,” Rochester Lions Club member and sports museum volunteer Anne Chirnside said.
Rochester Sports Museum is open from Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 3.30pm, but visits on other days can be arranged by phoning Bob Knight on 0438 843 444.
