Campaspe Shire Council’s flood recovery team, in partnership with the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, is hosting a series of free community grant-writing information sessions across the shire in August to support local recovery and capacity-building efforts.
Aimed at educating and empowering community members and organisations, the sessions will focus on the fundamentals of successful grant seeking and management — including how to identify the right grants, prepare strong applications, and manage grant acquittals and reporting effectively.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the workshops were not just about securing grants but also giving the community the opportunity to turn ideas into reality.
“Grant-writing workshops give our residents the skills to bring their ideas to life,” he said.
“When people learn how to access funding, they’re better able to shape the future of their communities.
“I urge community groups and businesses to attend, learn how to navigate funding opportunities, and gain the tools they need to lead local projects and drive real change.”
Five sessions will be held, each capped at 20 participants to ensure a quality interactive learning environment. Light supper or finger food will be provided.
Sessions will be held at: St Mary’s Parish Hall, Echuca, on Monday, August 18, 6pm to 8pm, and Tuesday, August 19, 10am to noon; Rochester at Campaspe Shire Council’s customer service centre and library meeting room on Tuesday, August 19, 6pm to 8pm; Kyabram KCLC, 21-25 Lake Rd, on Monday, August 25, 6pm to 8pm; and Rushworth at Campaspe Shire Council’s customer service centre and library meeting room on Thursday, August 28, 6pm to 8pm.
While all sessions are open to the general public, the session scheduled in Echuca on August 19 will be tailored specifically for community services and organisations, offering deeper insights into organisational grant seeking strategies.
Community members, volunteers and local service providers are encouraged to attend and gain valuable knowledge to support their recovery efforts and long-term community development goals.
For the sessions in Echuca and Rochester, book by 5pm on Monday, August 11. Bookings for the sessions in Kyabram and Rushworth close at 5pm on Monday, August 18.
