It was a tough road-trip for the Murray Bushrangers against a high-flying Gippsland Power in the latest round of Coates Talent League action.

The Bushies struggled to score, managing only two behinds by half-time at Craigieburn's Highgate Reserve, yet still trailed by a manageable 23 points at the main break.

Gippsland snuffed out any chance of a comeback with six of the third quarter’s seven goals, consigning the Bushies to a 12.15 (87) to 5.4 (34) defeat, the second game they have scored 34 points.

Despite the lopsided scoreboard, Mooroopna duo Mackenzie Calleja and Caden Ratcliffe continue to impress, while Shepparton United bottom-age prodigy Tanner Armstrong wasted no time settling back into Talent League duties with 29 disposals and five clearances.

Another two Goulburn Valley talents also had the opportunity to showcase their wares on debut.

Rumbalara’s Jamaron Atkinson was rewarded for some strong Murray Football League form with his first Bushies jumper, headlining his debut with a strong mark and goal against the tide in the fourth quarter.

Young Demon Archer Hueston, after making his senior debut for the Demons earlier in the season, also became the latest out of Deakin Reserve to make his Talent League debut.

The Bushies return to Wangaratta Showgrounds this Saturday to face Calder Cannons in round 14.

The girls will also make their return to the field after having the week off with the bye.
