Police were called to a Wood St home about 8pm after reports of an assault.
A man was arrested and taken to Deniliquin Police Station to be interviewed.
After being charged, he was released to appear in Deniliquin Local Court on the charges on July 16.
Car damaged
Between 5.30pm Saturday and 9am Sunday, a side window of a car parked near Napier St, Deniliquin was smashed.
The owner told police it does not appear any property was stolen from the vehicle.

Drink drive charge
A 56 year-old woman has been ordered to appear in Deniliquin Local Court after being charged with alleged drink driving.
Police said the woman failed a roadside breath test after being stopped by police in Cressy St, Deniliquin about 1.40am Saturday.
In the subsequent breath analysis taken at Deniliquin Police Station, it is alleged the woman returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.096.
She was charged with mid range prescribed concentration of alcohol and issued a court attendance notice.
