The rain that poured down and the wind that buffeted the region gave a glimpse into the gloomy nature of some one-sided contests.
Rumbalara hosted reigning premier Echuca on Sunday afternoon for round eight of the senior women competition.
It was a tough encounter for Rumba who couldn’t score throughout the match in wintry conditions.
The Murray Bombers continued their dominant ways as the visitors strolled to a 41-point victory.
Rumbalara’s Amy Young fought hard for her side and earned best-on-ground honours for the host.
Echuca pair Lily Hillman and Louise Walker finished the game with two goals.
Shepparton United won its seventh straight match with a 39-0 victory over Tatura.
Demons star Paige Baksh kicked two goals and was named best-on.
Baksh leads the league for goals with 14 from her seven matches.
The Bulldogs toiled away hard in the wet, with Hayley Cadel and reigning league best-and-fairest winner Sarah Lange-Richards impressing.
Barooga and Nathalia had a bye.
Shepparton United holds a four-point gap over Echuca at the top of the senior women ladder, with Rumbalara, Nathalia and Mansfield jostling for the third and fourth positions.
On Friday night in the youth girls competition, Echuca United secured a dominant 83-0 victory over Shepparton Swans at Echuca South Recreation Reserve.
Eagles’ Ava Plattfuss booted four goals, while captain Harper Delamare starred again and kicked three of her own.
Shepparton United bounced back from two consecutive defeats to register a 48-9 win over Nathalia.
Meanwhile, Moama won its eighth straight match with a 53-point victory over Barooga at home.
The Magpies currently sit atop the youth girls ladder with the Eagles, Demons and Hawks in tow.
