A Mazda CX-5 SUV was taken from Wyndham St while the owners were inside a medical centre at 10.15am on Tuesday, May 27.
They had been away from their car for about 15 minutes, and had the car keys with them in their pocket.
They also say the car was locked.
A Nissan X-Trail SUV was taken from the car park at Officeworks on St George’s Rd, about 10.15am on Thursday, May 29.
The car’s owner was away from the car for less than five minutes while she shopped in the business.
She also had her car keys with her, and the vehicle had been locked when she left it.
The Mazda CX-5 was found in a car park off Marungi St, near the Italian Social Club, a bit over two hours after it was taken.
It was still running, but no-one was in it.
A 25-year-old Melbourne man, with links to the Shepparton area, was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with theft of the Mazda CX-5, unlicensed driving, committing an indictable offence while on bail and contravening a bail condition.
Police said the man was already on 15 counts of bail for similar offending.
He was again bailed, with police saying the current legislation for bail in Victoria did not allow for police to remand him in custody.
He will appear before Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in October.
The silver Nissan X-Trail had not been found by 3pm on Thursday.
The Mazda was one of three cars stolen in Shepparton within eight hours on Tuesday.
A Kia sedan was stolen from a property on The Boulevard about 2am.
Police said the keys to the vehicle were potentially stolen the previous night in a burglary of the house at the property.
Police believe access was gained to the house from the walking track that runs along the Goulburn River at the back of the property.
Wallets were also taken during the burglary.
Police said in the process of the car being stolen, it was backed into a verandah post of the house, as well as being driven through a garden bed.
The vehicle was recovered a short time later, abandoned in Hovell Cres, Shepparton.
A red Kia Rio was also stolen from Nethersole Crt in Shepparton about 2.30am on Tuesday.
The vehicle, with the registration 2CP6DD, has not been recovered by police.
