The Eagles easily handled Barooga at Echuca South Recreation Reserve on Sunday, with almost the entire game played at United’s attacking end as the hosts held the Hawks scoreless throughout the game.

The Hawks’ defence closed ranks in the second and United was only able to add a single point to its tally before the half.
The Eagles’ pressure overwhelmed Barooga after the break and the goals began to flow again, United kicking seven in the remaining quarters to stroll out 10.13 (73) to 0. 0 (0) winners.

The win puts United back into second place, with a game in hand over its top table rivals.
The Eagles will return to action at Echuca South Recreation Reserve on Sunday, June 1, against Shepparton United.

Moama vs Shepparton United
On Friday night, Moama was under the floodlights at Kialla Park Recreation Reserve, facing off with Shepparton United.

The Demons showed plenty of fight in the game, but in the end the Magpies were again too strong for their opposition, walking away 8.11 (59) to 4.7 (31) winners.
Chelsea-Jade McLeod topped the scorers chart with three majors, while teammates Shaleah Cooper and Zoe McCallum kicked two each.

Tabitha Ingham was the Demons’ leading scorer with two goals.
Moama has rolled through the competition so far this season, a perfect 6-0 and yet to concede 100 cumulative points through its six fixtures.
The Magpies travel to Princess Park on June 1 to take on Shepparton Swans.
Echuca vs Shepparton United
Echuca has tasted defeat for the first time in the Goulburn Murray Women’s League, with Shepparton United downing the two-time champion at Kialla Park Recreation Reserve on Friday night.
The Murray Bombers were slow out of the blocks in the 2024 grand final rematch, failing to get on the scoreboard in the opening term.
The Demons had no such issues, rushing ahead by 20 points at the first change.
Echuca performed better in the middle quarters, finding its first score in the second, before kicking two goals to none after the half-time break to get back within nine at three-quarter time.
However, it was United that was able to surge away in the final period, sealing the win 5.6 (36) to 3.0 (18).
Matilda Cooke, Tyler Neville and Tahnee Pfeiffer kicked the goals for Echuca, while long-time Murray Bombers leader Paige Baksh was among the Demons’ scorers against her old side.
Shepparton United looks the team to beat through six rounds, a perfect 5-0 so far, while Echuca lurks just behind at 4-1.
Echuca’s next game will be a visit to Barooga on June 1.
