This week it is promoting some upcoming energy-saving workshops.
Age Friendly Benalla together with the Benalla Info Hub it is presenting two free energy-saving workshops in mid November.
These workshops, which will be held at the CWA in Bridge St, are being held on Thursday, November 18, at 2pm and Friday, November 19, at 10am.
The independent Energy Info Hub and COTA, in partnership with the Victorian Government, are presenting the workshops which supports older people to control their energy bill and apply for the $250 Power Saving bonus.
Each workshop will run for two hours and will include a 30-minute presentation and a 90-minute session to complete applications for the $250 payment.
People attending are encouraged to bring their concession card and a recent electricity bill, not just a reminder notice.
To be eligible for the $250 you must receive a Centrelink Pensioner Concession payment or a Job Seeker payment or have a Department of Veteran Affairs Pensioner Concession.
People attending will have an application lodged for the $250 payment provided they have brought their concession card and recent electricity bill.
They will also receive simple and effective tips to take control of their bill.
These workshops are supported by Benalla Rural City Council and the Age Well in Benalla Info Hub.
