The Saturday mornings are drawing to a close this term, with only two more weeks left.
It is so exciting to see the improvement each week and the kids all enjoying the coaching drills.
In Section 1, Intersport Deni won nine sets to Murray Darling Flights’ five, with William Frost winning his three for Intersport and Lenny Hanns winning three sets as fill in for MDF.
The other match was a different story with JC Earthworks convincing winners of Nutrien Ag, 11 sets to three.
James Gatacre, Rocky Sztejman, Audrey Laffan and Jack Steenholdt all winning three sets.
It’s a very close season with all teams only separated by four sets, so anyone can reach the grand final week.
On Sunday, the club hosted a Tennis NSW regional matchplay series event with more than 40 players registered.
It was very pleasing to see 15 local kids competing in the event with amazing results.
Congratulations to Charlotte Gatacre who was the under-12s girls winner, Arabella Bliss as the under-16 girls winner and James Gatacre who was the winner in the under-16s.
Runners-up in their age groups were Deni players Henry Pisasale (u12 boys), Jack McGrillen (u14 boys), Emma Wettenhall (u14 girls) and Toby Rae (u16 boys).
There was also fantastic support from the Hay tennis club, which will host a similar event in May.
Thanks to all the support and parents helping in canteen and cooking the barbecue.
