Shepparton Bulls have edged a length closer to second spot on the Victorian Rugby Premiership thanks to a gutsy victory over Northern Panthers.

The Bulls required a win to close the gap between the second-placed Panthers, claiming a bonus point thanks to a 32-19 result on Saturday.

Dan Patea and Taione Ratu doubled up during the win, which leaves Moronae Silaga’s side two points astray of Northern with four games left in the home and away season.

News photographer Megan Fisher roamed Vibert Reserve to capture the clash from the sidelines.

Before the end of the campaign creeps around, the Bulls will have a special visit from some former international stars.

As part of the Gold Blooded Tour, former players from the Wallabies will be present during a rugby clinic run by Rugby Victoria at Vibert Reserve on July 27.

The junior clinic will be held at 5.30pm and is followed by senior training at 6.30pm.

Anyone is welcome to attend and encouraged to head along and get a taste of rugby union.

The clinic will be followed by a free dinner provided by the club.
