THEY SAID IT: "Council workers" - a golden line from Network 10 commentator Andy Harper as he described Melbourne Victory's defence in their 2-1 loss to Western Sydney. Three Victory defenders - in their hi-vis jersey - stood watching when Brandon Borrello burst through for the Wanderers and easily finished past Paul Izzo.

MAN OF THE WEEK: That man Borrello, again. A goal against Victory and to top it off the Socceroos forward set up the winning goal that came via Amor Layouni to send the Wanderers into the finals for the first time in six years. Borrello has 11 goals this season for Marko Rudan and has arguably been the signing of the season.
STAT ATTACK: After Sunday's 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Sydney FC, Perth Glory have won only one of their last 22 ALM games outside of WA.
TALKING POINT: Ufuk Talay indicated he's leaving Wellington at the end of this year and says he wants a job overseas. But it would be a surprise if some of the competition's struggling clubs didn't at least ask the question of the outgoing Phoenix boss. Talay has developed from within and nailed his overseas recruitment since taking charge of the 'Nix.
BEAT THAT: Brandon O'Neill delivered for Newcastle when it mattered most. His 95th minute curving thunderbolt from 30 yards secured the Jets a 2-1 win over Macarthur to keep their finals push alive.
UNDER PRESSURE: Sydney FC and Wellington Phoenix are on 32 points and sit just inside the top six. But they have Newcastle and Western United (both on 29 points) breathing down their necks with two rounds to go. Sydney host Newcastle on the final day of the season in a potential do-or-die game.
UP NEXT: The Wanderers host Wellington on Friday before a decisive weekend of fixtures. Central Coast head to Newcastle while Western United meet Melbourne City on Saturday. Melbourne Victory play Macarthur in a dead rubber on Sunday as Adelaide head to Perth and Sydney travel north to Brisbane.Â
