Two powerhouse 17-and-under netball outfits in Goulburn Valley League played out a heart-stopping contest on Saturday at Deakin Reserve.

Shepparton United and Echuca lit up the court with a sizzling 39-38 encounter that fell the way of the Dees.

Little separated the two combatants in their round five thriller, with the scores locked at each break during the game.

With the scores locked on 30 goals apiece at three-quarter time, many thought the two sides would settle for a draw.

However, United was able to dig deep and gain a crucial 9-8 advantage in the last term which sealed a classic victory.

Alexandra Hall and Jordan Commadeur were United's stars, while Echuca midcourter Maia Roberts almost willed her side over the line with a sublime performance.

The result keeps the Demons unbeaten.

Kyabram is finally on the board for the first time this season.

The Bombers overcame a slow start to clinch a comfortable 58-49 victory over Seymour at Kings Park.

The Lions got the early jump on the the away side and led 14-11 at the first break to have full control of the game.

But Kyabram was able to find an extra gear and piled on 32 goals to 22 in the following two quarters.

Youngster Charli Keenan was best-on for the Bombers, while Olivia Pearce and Jordyn Beattie battled hard for Seymour.

Rochester remains in top spot on the ladder following its crushing win over Tatura.

The Tigers trounced the Bulldogs at Tatura Park to the tune of 37 goals.

Alannah Weeks starred for the victors, while teammates Charlee Rouslton and Krystal Condor provided great support.

Tayla Albrey-Mills and Mia Earl flew the flag for the home side.

A clinical second-half performance helped deliver Mooroopna its fourth win of the campaign.

On Saturday during the Blue Ribbon Shield day, the Cats handed Shepparton Swans a heavy 51-32 defeat.

Eliza Gesler was awarded best-on honours for Mooroopna, while Tanesha Nurse and Jazmin Clark rounded out the top performers.

Ashlee McMahon, Michaela Moore and Coco Batey were the Swans’ best.

Lastly, Euroa secured its first points of the year with a nail-biting 30-28 victory over Benalla.

And Shepparton remains in the top-six following its 27-goal drubbing of Mansfield.
