Grahamvale Primary School has a new mural on its water tank and has revamped its vegie garden as part of a new project at the school.

The school has reinvigorated its vegie garden as part of the ‘Growing Goodness at Grahamvale’ project.

Plans are for the garden to be used as an outdoor classroom next year.

A mural has been painted on the water tank by local artist Mimi Leung as part of a revamp of the area.

The new project was officially launched earlier in December.

City of Greater Shepparton Healthy Kids advisor Katie Thorp worked closely with the school in launching the project.

Delivered by the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation, Healthy Kids advisors are a dedicated workforce of locally based outreach officers active in 13 targeted local government areas, including Greater Shepparton.

This community engagement initiative complements the foundation’s vision to see children form positive food habits for life.

Healthy Kids advisors are part of a comprehensive effort to achieve fairer health outcomes and improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people living in these communities, Ms Thorp said.
