Now in its eighth year, the program is designed to help residents increase their leadership skills through seven workshops. The sessions are two to three hours long and are held fortnightly from March.
The council’s community director Kaye Thomson said the program was a great way to help members of the community enhance their leadership skills.
“Participants will participate in a range of topics including resilience and goal setting, understanding community diversity, leadership, conflict resolution and communication, community engagement, networking, public speaking and designing workshops.
“The 2021 program has been designed to be COVID-safe. This year, participation numbers have been reduced and sessions will be held both online and in person to ensure we are keeping everyone as safe as possible.”
Only 20 places are available this year, and participants must be aged 18 years or older. Applications close Monday, March 1.
