Waaia's Rachael Nelson's two children Faith and Tyler, along with their cousins Chase and Indi Rodda, assembled and donated the baskets.
Mrs Nelson said it was to teach her children about giving back to the community.
“It's to recognise the services and how good they are,” she said.
“They don't get to close and are they're there all the time, and with everything they do on a daily basis, they should be acknowledged.”
Two gift baskets were donated to GV Health, with one donated to Numurkah and one to Cobram.
The baskets were filled with treats including Chomp chocolate bars, Kinder Surprise, Skittles, Summer Rolls, chips, energy balls, flavoured coffee sachets, Mentos, Soothers and lip balms.
Mrs Nelson said they tried to get something for everyone.
“A few staff members at Cobram came running out and said how good it looked,” she said.
“The kids had a ball being able to assemble the baskets and they each got a little bit of leftovers for themselves.
“Each basket has a thank you card that the kids wrote — we've all been in hospital at different points, so they were proud to say thank you.”
Mrs Nelson said working at the hospital was often a thankless job.
“People need to remember these organisations have to deal with moody and violent people, bereavement and loss and no matter what — they are still there,” she said.
“One small gesture can bring a smile to someone's face.”
