Goulburn Valley Health has received an extra $58 million for its redevelopment, Premier Daniel Andrews and Health Minister Jenny Mikakos' announced in Shepparton today.
Their visit also marked the completion of the new building's external structure and roof installation.
The building will feature 64 inpatient beds, 10 intensive care beds, eight operating theatres and a new kitchen, doubling the capacity of the emergency department.
There will also be a new 12-bed maternity unit, a 10-cot special care nursery, a 12-bed paediatric ward and a single-storey dialysis department with 16 chairs.
The funding announcement will help deliver two new x-ray rooms, a CT scan room, an ultrasound room and an additional operating theatre, bringing the total to four new theatres.
The Victorian Government has invested $229.3 million so far. The expanded emergency department, new paediatric ward and new inpatient tower is expected to be completed next year.
