The exhibition will combine the collections of the Merrigum District Historical and Educational Society and Merrigum resident Jenny Lawler (nee Kay), showcasing a variety of displays dating back to the late 1800s.
Ms Lawler said the pieces will be placed throughout the museum, including the kitchen and general store.
“The history of the Wilson Bros brand, as they were first named, is extensive and it has become more and more collectable, with pieces popping up at clearing sales, swap meets and auctions,” she said.
Visitors to the museum will be treated to a presentation from guest speaker Steve O’Brien.
“Steve is a former Willow employee of 22 years, who still keeps in touch with the family,” Ms Lawler said.
The exhibition will include rare collections including kitchenware, tins and pressed metal.
“I have two pieces — one is a little cookie tin and another is an oval tin, but they are the Wilson Brothers and they’re as rare as hens’ teeth,” Ms Lawler said.
The Willow Ware Exhibition will be held this Sunday, August 18 at the Merrigum Museum, 111-113 Waverley Avenue, Merrigum from 12.30pm to 3.30pm.
Entry is $7 per person with afternoon tea provided.
