Celebrating Women contains stories and poems from 44 local writers, as well as a section showcasing artwork from Splinter Contemporary Artists.
An important consideration by the project’s editors was to allow the voices of the community to be heard, which negated the need for restrictions on genre, style or theme.
The writers’ group produced the book themselves and received monetary assistance from Campaspe Shire Council and The Apprenticeship Factory in Shepparton.
“Celebrating Women is more than a book – it's a cross-arts collaboration by writers and artists. The wealth of talent in the community has combined to create something truly amazing,” group member Judy Campbell said.
The launch of Celebrating Women will be held at the Kyabram Town Hall on Saturday, March 6 from 2 pm.
The event will also be livestreamed on the Kyabram Writers Group Facebook page.
Books are $20 each and will be for sale direct to the public from the town hall after March 6.
Online order forms are available from the Kyabram Writers Group Facebook page and the Kyabram Town Hall’s website.
Online book purchases can be posted for an additional small fee, with a bulk postage rate available.
