News reader Gwen Parsons says State Member for Shepparton Suzanna Sheed (pictured) should be involved in ensuring all positions on the Goulburn Valley Health board are filled.

Response angers

- Gwen Parsons, Shepparton

I am writing to express my disappointment at the response from State Member for Shepparton Suzanna Sheed to an email I sent her on July 6, regarding the termination of three experienced directors from the Goulburn Valley Health board, despite all three having applied to extend their tenure.

Ms Sheed took over two months to respond and then just fobbed me off, telling me to write to the Health Minister myself because she was an independent member and could not help me.

As our local member, it is Ms Sheed’s job to address any issue people in her electorate raise.

She should have been making sure the representation on GV Health board was either retained or if needed changing, making sure suitable replacements were in place by July 1, to retain a complete board.

Currently there are two vacancies on the GV Health board, still unfilled despite nearly three months having passed by.

Ms Sheed should be advocating on the issue for the betterment of GV Health.

Ms Sheed is close to the Labor Government and votes with them on issues that her electorate may not support, but when she tries to get assistance from the Government and have input on issues that affect the Shepparton electorate she gets ignored.

Is this the power of an independent member?
