Country Fire Authority firefighters worked for almost two hours to bring a grass fire under control in Katandra.

Fire razes Seymour home

A fire completely destroyed a house in Seymour on Wednesday afternoon. The fire happened at a Sinclair Cres home about 4pm.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the house was destroyed but no-one was home at the time of the incident.

She said police were not treating the fire as suspicious.

Grass fire at Katandra

Country Fire Authority firefighters worked for almost two hours to bring a grass fire under control on Prideaux St in Katandra on Wednesday.

The CFA sent five tankers to the scene about 11.05am and stopped the progress of the fire about 12.45pm.

No structures were damaged by the fire.
