Pigeons Loft

Welcome back! The football and netball seasons are almost upon us again.

Our boys and girls have been working hard during the off season in preparation.

Coaches in the O&M are Damien Sexton - Seniors, Tim Seal - Reserves, Ross Mulquiney – Under 18s, Kaitlyn Cummins and Laura Irvine - A Grade, Bridget Cassar and Jac Flanagan - B Grade, Jen Buerckner and Zoe Jones - C Grade and Jayanna Sharp – Under 16s.

AWJFL coaches are Scott Pendergast – Under 16s, Craig “Hornet” Frauenfelder and Luke Brennan – Under 14s, Glenn Leonard – Under 12s.

In the Female Football League, Molly Kennedy will coach the open team and Roger Robilliard will coach the youth team.

Last Saturday’s sixth Annual Charity practice match against Therry Penola was a resounding success with a strong win.

The Pigeons donated $4k each to Friends in Common and the Next Step Spinal Clinic via the gate, raffle, BBQ and auction. Both are fantastic causes.  Thanks to the Therry crew who travel in numbers and make a weekend of it.

This weekend

This Saturday, March 16, we’ve got a practice match against Echuca.

Football will start at 2pm (U18s), 4pm (Reserves) and 6pm (Seniors).

The netballers start at 2.30pm (C grade), 3.45pm (B grade) and 5pm (A grade).

We encourage all supporters to come down and cheer the boys and girls on.

The BBQ and bar will be operating.

There will be a cocktail function upstairs from 6.30pm, $20 entry covers nibbles and live music, drinks at bar prices.

On Sunday, March 17, the Under 12 boys play Rennie in a practice match from 9am.

The Murray Bushrangers girls will play Eastern Ranges at 11am (Under 16s) and 12.45pm (Under 18s).

The following weekend there will be practice matches Friday night (Under 12s and Under 16s v Corowa), Saturday (Under 18s, Reserves and Seniors v Wang Magpies) and Sunday morning (Under 14s v Corowa, Youth and Open Women’s v Tatura).
