In his last and seventh time as president, Matt Holmes hosted 293 guests at the Bryan Hayes Pavilion, the club’s biggest night attendance-wise it has hosted.
Both junior and senior football and netball teams were lauded for their achievements throughout the season, and trophies and medallions were handed out to the rapture of the crowd.
While there were struggles in the senior ranks results-wise this season, for a town of just 936 inhabitants, the Towners’ junior program continues to punch above its weight, with their under-15s taking home the premiership and under-18s making the grand final.
Outgoing president Holmes said he and the committee were pleased with the club's performance heading into the off-season.
“With five football teams and seven netball teams, the club is in a perfect place currently,” he said.
“Success isn't measured any more on silverware, it is measured on the participation numbers and families involved in the sustainability of a good club.”
At the end of the night, Lachie Ellis presented Holmes with a gift in appreciation of his outstanding leadership of the club.
